  2. Fish! by Stephen C. Lundin & Harry Paul & John Christensen – My second port of call! Short story that shows any team can be transformed with a simple, clear structured approach

  3. The One Minute Manager by Kenneth Blanchard and Spencer Johnson – My most recommended management book –catch people doing something right!

  4. Leadership & Self Deception – Arbinger Institute – Personally a top ten favourite. I read this at the right time and it changed the way I see myself and the way I relate to others.

  5. Mindset – Carol Dweck – Another top 10 favourite! The understanding and insight into the power of a growth mindset and how to create it is exceptional.

  6. The Goal: A Process of Ongoing Improvement by Eliyahu M. Goldratt This was the first book I read on my learning journey. As a production manager by training the ‘Theory Of Constraints’ remains a favourite and can be applied to so many areas of life.

  7. Good to Great by Jim Collins – Loved the structure and tools included in this thoroughly researched book.

  8. Creativity, Inc. by Ed Catmull – Recommended by my son this book is insightful across team work, strategy, mindset and life skills. Easy and interesting read.

  9. Exponential Organizations by Salim Ismail, Michael S. Malone & Yuri van Geest  – One of the best insights into the rapidly changing world we live in with clear thoughts on how businesses can apply lessons learnt

  10. David & Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell is a top author (I initially had all his books in this list!). His books read so well and are captivating, well researched and applicable to life and business.

  11. Start with Why by Simon Sinek – Turns the approach to modern business inside out in an engaging and challenging way that can help companies reinvent themselves

  12. The 4 Disciplines of Execution by Chris McChesney, Sean Covey & Jim Huling – Imminently practical and works so well – amazing more business are not following these.

  13. The Fifth Discipline: The Art & Practice of The Learning Organization by Peter M. Senge – In the future the only sustainable competitive advantage is your organization’s ability to learn faster than the competition – this shows you how.

  1. The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino (& Part 2 The End of the Story) – Great fable with simple, clear steps that show how anyone can succeed in sales

  2. Closer’s Survival Guide by Grant Cardone – Closing is a vital skill in sales. Within these 100 closes there are some you can use (it is rather “American” but the content is good)

  3. Psychology of Selling by Brian Tracy – Wonderful step by step approach to the system and process of selling

  4. How I Raised Myself From Failure to Success in Selling by Frank Bettger – A classic book that is amazingly still relevant. Told in an engaging first person format it is easy to relate to and implement.

  5. The Go-Getter by Peter B. Kyne  - A wonderfully challenging book that shows you how to preserver so you can become a “go-getter”

  1. 12: The Elements of Great Management by Rodd Wagner & James K. Hartner – The best book I have read on team management. Impliment these 12 steps and any team will improve and shine!

  2. 5 Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick M. Lencioni – I love the simplicity of these 5 levels. Written as an engaging story with guideline on how to implement the 5 stages – this remains a very well used resource for me.

  3. Gung Ho – by Ken Blanchard & Sheldon Bowles - Another team turnaround illustration amid racial tension. True story that shows a path to team unity

  4. The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You by John Maxwell – John Maxwell is the leadership guru and this is one of his finest works.

  5. Spy the Lie by Philip Houston, Michael Floyd & Susan Carnicero - Awesome book for understanding people and learning how to read and approach tough situations with people.

  6. What EveryBODY Is Saying by Joe Navarro with Marvin Harlins – Another great resource for increasing your understanding of people and learning to read ‘hidden’ signals

  7. Whale Done by Kenneth Blanchard – Challenging book that shows the power of focusing on what you want more of.

  1. Raving Fans by Ken Blanchard & Sheldon Bowles – How to delight your customers to the point that they are raving about you

  2. Purple Cow by Seth Godin – Any Seth Godin is good. This one stood out due to its practical application approach when a company wants to be so different it would be like seeing a purple cow!

  3. The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing by Al Ries & Jack Trout – Solid must read if you are in marketing, sales or management.

  4. Made to Stick by Chip & Dan Heath-  Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die. Interesting research and great suggestions for making your idea/product or service stick in customers mind

  5. Blue Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim & Renee Mauborgne – Superbly researched and presented book on power of marketing your product so well that it stands above, alone and apart from all competitors.

  1. The Anatomy of Peace by The Arbinger Institute – Gives a depth of understanding that truly helps you ‘see’ others

  2. Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend – The most ‘healthy’ mind book for people struggling to be themselves

  3. The 5 Love Languages  by Gary D. Chapman – Insightful and illuminating. Understanding how to show love is such a crucial skill for healthy relationships

Personal Self Improvement

  1. The Bible – It took 14 years of personal grappling before I accepted this as the greatest book ever written. I remain amazed at how relevant it is and how frequently it is referenced in modern text.

  2. Personal Power II  by Tony Robbins – It is a book but strictly this should be under my audio recommendation but was such a huge influence on shifting my mindset I had to include it here.

  3. The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. The first 1’000’000 audio seller and still as relevant on mindset today. Our minds are fertile soil – we choose what we plant.

  4. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill – Timeless principles. Thoughts are things and you control them.

  5. Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi – Brilliant work on how to quickly get into and stay in optimal ‘flow’.

  6. The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason A great story and advice on saving and investing that remains true today.

  7. Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz I found this work profound on the power of self talk and self perception and have recently bought the new audio version

  8. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho – A well-grounded classic on the things that matter in life

  9. Eat That Frog! by Brian Tracy 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time. Simple and effective.

  10. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey (and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by his son, Sean Covey) – We always default to habits under pressure or in our flow – this helps make sure your habits serve you well.

  11. The Success Principles by Jack Canfield – People can only value you as much as you value yourself. Great advice in a well laid out format.

  12. The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren – People need purpose and this best seller adds a depth that is challenging and insightful.

  13. The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg – Fabulous and so insightful on the power of our habits.  Amazon kept suggesting this based on my buying history – so pleased they did!

  14. Getting Things Done by David Allen – The best time management book I have ever read.

  15. No Excuses by Brian Tracy – Short, simple and to the point. Staple reading to shift blame mentality.

  16. Bounce: Mozart, Federer, Picasso, Beckham, and the Science of Success by Matthew Syed – hard work pays off. Anything repeated and practised at peak for 10,000 hours will position you among the best.

  17. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki – Another eye opening book revealing that there is a better way than the way your folks did it or the way you have always pursued life and a career.

  18. The Present: The Gift for Changing Times by Spencer Johnson – A short and lovely story that will enrich your every day.

  19. Wink and Grow Rich by Roger Hamilton – clever story that illustrates how perception and understanding affect wealth creation
